April 2014

Krysta got a beautiful new haircut
This is Krysta's kindergarten concert at school

Scott finished the girls' bunk beds and they LOVE them!! They are beautiful.  They even have a climbing wall to get to the top, instead of a ladder!

Tyler and Emalyn were on the Idaho Falls Surfer's Swim Team and they had a great meet.  Tyler is great a freestyle and Emalyn is fast in breaststroke and backstroke.

City of Rocks April 2014

We went to City of Rocks, Idaho in April 2014.  City of Rocks is a great world-famous climbing/hiking place in southern central Idaho.  While there we watched some climbers with a death wish who climbed the rock without any ropes or gear.  Scary!

Scott was pretty tired and didn't feel up to climbing very much.  But he did do some "low" climbing (w/o any gear, but he really wasn't too high up).

And it turns out this was a stop along the Oregon Trail! This was a fun place to learn about.

The funniest part of this trip was that Amy fell asleep on the drive home.  Amy, the Navigator/map-reader, fell asleep and her really nice husband didn't want to wake her up.  He figured that he drove us there, so he could remember the way to get home.  Turns out there were more turns than he remembered, so when Amy woke up after a half-hour nap, we were driving in the opposite direction from where home would be.  And there were no exits for another 30 min, so our 3-hour drive took FIVE HOURS.  In the future, Scott will make an effort to be less nice and Amy will take fewer naps. :)

Kodachrome Utah March 2014

We took our tent trailer on our first camping trip March 2014 to Kodachrome, a state park in Southern Utah.

A cool bridge we found while hiking one morning.

We made it to the top!

The best part about this trip was that after we reserved a camping spot, we found out two days later that our good friends, the Wilcox family, had reserved a spot in the SAME campground for the SAME days!  Of course we went hiking together.

beautiful scenery on every hike

We found a (shallow) narrow canyon to show our kids what hiking in a slot canyon would be like.

We went through part of Escalante Grand Staircase and drove along the narrow highway with drop-offs on both sides of the road.

Also went hiking and *mostly* climbing in  Devil's Playground.

Jan-Mar 2014

These are pictures from Jan/Feb 2014

Scott's birthday was epic.  TWO bags of Swedish Fish!!

Krysta has her hair all pretty and she's making a heart with her hands.  She did her hair all by herself!

And Tyler got a fish.  He saved his money and bought a beta fish.
Russell decided to make his own bed on the chair.  It was surprising how well he fit!

We bought a tent trailer.  We had NO idea at that time how much we/I would come to LOVE it...

Tyler, singing at his 5th grade patriotic concert.  He is in the solid green shirt near the middle of the picture.  His awesome 5th grade teacher, Mr. Wetzel, is just two people to the left of him.

December 2013

Once again, since I am so behind, I'm going to try to do massive catching up!

We went to Grandma and Grandpa Jensen's house for Christmas.  Grandpa Ron and Uncle Craig did an amazing magic show!

Tyler, Emalyn, and Krysta had their TaVaci Singers performance that month.  Each one of them sang with the choir and also had a special part.

Emalyn told one of the jokes in between two of the musical numbers.  She did a great job. This was in a huge auditorium, in front of hundreds of people.

Krysta sang a song, "Dear Santa Have You Had the Measles?"

Tyler sang "Santa's Back" (a backstreet boys parody) with some other 5th and 6th grade boys.

This is our red and green Christmas dinner.
