Father's Day 2013

Present opening was so fun.  He's a super awesome dad, so he got super awesome presents.  Isn't that how it works?

I had each of the 3 older kids fill out a questionnaire about their Dad.  It was fun to read what they wrote.  I have some favorite answers on each page, but I think one of Tyler's is my favorite.  I'll let you guess which answer it was...

Krysta's

Tyler's

Emalyn's
You can tell how much he enjoyed reading those.
Emalyn's sweet present to Dad.  She gave him this to decorate his office.

Krysta made a treasure hunt for Daddy to go on to find his present.

He got one question wrong on the treasure hunt, and this is what he had to do as a consequence.
We sure love Scott.  He is an amazing husband and father.  We are so lucky to have him.  He puts everything he has into these roles and I am humbled by the person he is.  He is perfect for us, and I love him.

The Zoo, Tinkerbell, and Grandma Nancy's bead necklace making

As you may notice, I'm really behind in my blogging.  So these last pictures should finish May this year.

Here is Krysta's class at the Zoo.

Here they are again, with the teacher.  She was a great teacher.  Krysta really liked her.  This is the whole class.  Yes, 5 boys and 2 girls.  She never really was happy about that.  But she made some really great friends (boys and girl) in her class.

This was Krysta's most requested hair-do.  We call it  "Tinkerbell Hair".

We went down to Payson in May for Lauren and Craig's baby blessing.  I have no pictures of that event or of beautiful baby Hazel, but I got some cute ones of bead-necklace-making, which is something we often do at Grandma Nancy's house.

Crazy Hair Day at School

Spirit week at school is a BIG deal around here.  We actually remembered the camera on crazy hair day.  Actually, I should say that Scott remembered it, because HE did crazy hair day ALL BY HIMSELF.  I was gone on a bike ride that morning, and it was his day off.  We had completely forgotten about crazy hair day.  But the kids did NOT.  Scott is such a good dad!  Look at these pictures!

Emalyn's hair was her idea.  She went out in the backyard and picked some branches and leaves to have "TREE HAIR".  She also did all her own pony tails.  Scott helped her stick the branches and leaves in her hair.

Tyler did spikes and spray painted them black.  It looked pretty awesome!

Cress Creek Nature Trail

Sometime in May, we hiked the Cress Creek Nature Trail.  It's a one-mile, paved trail, but with kids, ANYTHING counts as a hike, right?
Raring to get on the trail!

One of many beautiful views

We met some great people who took a picture of us

Another beautiful view

Cheering because we made it to the top! The girls weren't sure we'd ever make it up that STEEP hill, so this bench was well-placed at the top.

This watercress is lining the whole creek along the trail, hence the name "Cress Creek"

It was so pretty.  All that green, in May in Idaho.  A very rare sight.

Heading back down the trail.

Emalyn got passed..Krysta was in a hurry to get back and eat some lunch!

We-be-los

If your a mother of a 10-yr or older boy, then you must have wondered where those Scouts came up with the name "Webelos".  Even Blogger says it's not a word.  But I'll share with you what I learned while helping Tyler earn his Webelos badge.  It means, "We'll Be Loyal Scouts."  That's pretty cool.  Anyway, Tyler earned his Webelos badge in April.

I love that we're ALL up there.  You could say we're really loyal...or that maybe some of us don't like to be out of the spotlight.  Either way, it was fun to all be up there.

Tyler pinned the Webelos pin on me.  Really though, it was Scott who did most of the work to help him earn this badge.  He should have gotten the pin.

The Cub master had called me earlier to write up a spotlight for Tyler.  I didn't know I would get to read it.  That was really fun to honor Tyler that way.

"Tyler is an amazing kid.  He is the oldest child out of four, and is a great example to his sisters and brother.  He is a great swimmer, biker, hiker, and rock climber.  He especially loves to go rock climbing with his dad.  Tyler also loves to go camping, play soccer, and to play the Wii.  He has an amazing memory-if he’s read it in a book, then he will always remember it.  He has a constant flow of facts about anything and everything.  He loves to read and has a great curiosity about the world and how everything works.  Whenever he gets a new Lego set, he gets it all put together in a very short time-to the amazement of his mom!  Tyler is a very good boy and takes very good care of his brother and sisters.  He especially likes to take care of his little brother.  Tyler is a great planner.  When he decides to do something, he reads and finds out all about it and plans how to get it done.  Tyler plays the piano very well.  He learned and memorized a song in two weeks to play for his Grandma in Utah last week."

Easter

Decorating Easter Eggs!  We arranged them in rows according to who decorated them. First row (going front to back) starting on the left: Krysta, Dad, Mom, Emalyn, and Tyler

The Easter Egg Hunt! In our backyard. Tyler and Emalyn and Krysta had their hunt during Russell's nap, and then Emalyn hid some more eggs so Russell could have his own hunt after he woke up.  I love the Easter egg hunts in our backyard.  It's so fun to hide them and then watch the kids find them!

In their new Easter clothes! Russell is not in the photos, because he was asleep and because his Easter clothes were not church clothes, they were shirts that he can wear over his cast that keep out dirt and sand and keep him cooler.

I put all the pictures up, because each one made me laugh for a different reason.
