Today, I took both my girls to the doctor. Krysta had her two month check-up (she's doing great!!) and got her shots (yuck, yuck! she's miserable.) We also found out that the mark that she's got on her foot is a hemangioma (yea, say that 5 times really fast). That's the same thing that Emalyn has on her side that she's had since birth, for all those of you who remember and know what I'm talking about. Nothing to worry about, unless it gets a cut, in which case she would bleed too much and we'd have to take her to the dr. Emalyn woke up with a fever, sore throat, and barking cough. So we took her in to the dr too. Turns out she has croup! This is the first time anyone has been sick in our family since Krysta was born, so it makes sense that we'd get hit kinda hard. But I feel really blessed that Emalyn is the only one sick so far and that we've all been so healthy...knock on wood.
Tonight we made brownies after dinner and Tyler asked what color they were going to be. Scott and I had a hard time holding in the laughter after that one (when Tyler was no longer paying attention, of course).
Krysta is so full of smiles now (other than this afternoon because of the shots) and loves to coo and "talk" to me. I just love this baby stage. Who knew that making a baby smile could just make life worth while? Oh, and guess what? All of your prayers must be working, because Krysta has been sleeping through the night for most nights for about a week and a half now! So thank you all very much for your thoughts and prayers. We're all much happier and better rested now.
Scott has had to work overtime for the last two weeks and he'll have to every week until the end of February. I hate the late days, he leaves at 5:30am and gets home at 8:30pm. They are so long! But then, I really shouldn't complain. He only has to do one day a week like that, and I think about Cheryl and Blake with his busy season right now, and Carolyn and Jeremy with his business trips, and then I know that I have no right to complain.
Anyway, I better go, the brownies are almost done. Anyone want to come over and have some with us?

Having a husband come home late is yucky and valid reason for complaint no matter what anyone else is dealing with--especially with a little baby. I'm sorry! I wish we lived next door so we could hang out at night and have dinner together!
me too! oh wait... I get to see you in 2 weeks! YES! I can't wait!
What a brave thing to do, to take both girls to the Doctor. I know I'll have to do it someday, wish me luck.
I'm with your sisters, keep complaining about long hours, I do, and Dave is usually home by 5:30, long hours usually means he comes at 7:00pm.
I would take you up on the brownies but I'm afraid I'll have to know the color first :-)
