Krysta is 3!!!

We started the party at dinner: when she got the special birthday plate and a birthday hat.

Daddy made this bean bag game-and Tyler and Emalyn kept trying to use their faces for our target practice. Who knew getting hit in the face with a bean bag was so much fun?

Tyler was pretty good-I think he got a score of 250(!!! Awesome). He beat me by 50 points. But Dad beat all of us with 300.

Krysta couldn't stop giggling enough to get many through- I think she did get one though. But that wasn't the point to her- to her it was just to see how much fun you could have throwing each bean bag. It was hilarious to watch her and laugh with her.

See how big she's getting? Oh she's growing up so fast!

Tyler and Emalyn had almost as much fun helping Krysta open her presents as she did! I love this picture of the three of them. (And by the way, if you're missing Russell, it's because he was either eating or sleeping during the whole party. I'll post pics of him soon though. I promise.)

Here is Krysta showing what she got from Tyler and Emalyn, a car (inside the red ball) and a green frog.

Opening presents takes ALOT of concentration!

She was really excited about the next picture-so excited that I never got her to look at the camera.

And the cake....Tyler, Emalyn, Scott and I all helped decorate it. She wanted orange, purple, blue and green on it. So we each did a color and did whatever we wanted with it.

I can't believe our little fairy princess is 3 years old already. It seems like she just joined our family. She is one of my greatest joys. She brings happiness and laughter wherever she goes. And the crazy ideas she gets in her head-like walking into Smith's Food & Drug saying, "Tuuurkeeey...Where are you Turkey? We're HERE for you turkey! Where aaarrrre yoooouuuuu?" over and over at the top of her lungs-well, they alway make me laugh and smile too. She's so smart too-she can count to 10 and even though she knows she is 3 now, she still tells anyone who asks that she's 4. She loves to play with her babies (her own and her new brother Russell) and to color and paint and to play in the snow. She is very helpful with Russell- she gives him lots of kisses and hugs and gets a diaper for him when he needs one, and helps to entertain him when he's sad.

We love our little Krysta!
BTW-Check out the previous post-it's the cutest video of a 3-year-old singing Happy Birthday to herself!

visiting Ketcheson grandparents in UTAH

My parents were in Utah looking for a house!!! in July because they were moving there. Here, they're staying at my aunt's house temporarily while we visited them. Krysta with Grandpa and Grandma

Tyler with Grandma and Grandpa

Emalyn with Grandma and Grandpa and Karen's dog, Rocky.

Jensen Family Reunion, July 1-3, 2010

We started the first day of the reunion by making ducks for all of the kids in Grandma and Grandpa's backyard. For some reason, we only took pictures of Krysta with her duck, but she's real cute with them.

The next day, we went to the Aquarium in Salt Lake City. Below, is Krysta, Emalyn, and Diana sitting on a frog.

The irony of Emalyn's expression put together with the words on the orange circle next to her...well...it just makes me laugh. Who could resist adopting two cute girls with these expressions on their faces?

Tyler and his cousin...who didn't know we were taking the picture...

We got to pet these creepy stingrays. In truth, I was the only one who thought it was creepy...the kids were all for putting their arms in a touching them.

Diana and her mom Carolyn petting a stingray.

Krysta was also brave enough to put her hands in.

Krysta posing in front of a shark.

This penguin is NOT about to take a bite out of her ear...

It's not even real! Emalyn is as tall as a mommy penguin!

Tyler, Krysta, and Emalyn in front of the boa constrictor cage.
Another picture of our sweet Emalyn that makes me laugh and hug her every time.

The next day, we went on a hike up Nebo Canyon to a waterfall. We had to cross several of these plank bridges. Christy is in the front in the red shirt, then Lily and Grandma Nancy, then Krysta and pregnant Amy
Next in the train came Rylan and Jaron, then Taylor and Jason.

Halloween!

These are the TRUE scary faces of Halloween... Can you tell what they are? Krysta is Tigger (I'm sure that one wasn't too hard), Tyler is a vampire, and Emalyn is a very scary cat. I have to say, I'm very proud of the makeup job I did on each of them. Which wouldn't have been possible except that my mom was there to help take care of baby while I did this.
After getting all dressed up and everything, Scott and my mom took them to our ward's trunk or treat. And yes, they got PLENTY of candy! Which explains why we didn't go trick-or-treating again that night.

After they got home from that, they carved their pumpkins.
Which is VERY serious business!

And here is Krysta putting her pumpkin seeds back INSIDE the pumpkin. She thought they belonged there...and really, it was pretty cute to watch her do it.

And finally, the finished products. Tyler's is on the left, Emalyn's is next, and then Krysta's is on the right.

Scary (but cute) Halloween Faces

The first Monday after we brought Russell home was the Monday before Halloween. So for our FHE treat, we made "Scary Halloween Faces" aka "S'mores".

Also, Russell brought home presents for his siblings...

...a Nintendo Wii(!!!!!) and clothes for Krysta's baby dolls.

Tyler and Emalyn were so excited...if you can't tell...Tyler couldn't even pull his eyes away from the Wii remote for the picture.
