Baby Arrival!!!

So, even though I kept hoping he would want to come on his own, he decided to be much more patient than I and come on his scheduled date, October 19, 2010. It was scheduled because it was a c-section, and it went so smoothly for both baby and me. He was born at 9:23 am, weighing 7 lbs 7 oz. and was 21 inches long. We weren't able to come up with a name for him before his birth; Scott and I'd tried but we just couldn't settle on one name. But after seeing him, we both felt his name should be Russell Ketcheson Jensen. On our last night in the hospital, we were served what is called by the nurses, a "stork dinner". It was so yummy, and I was able to sit at the table with Scott and eat with him. That made me really happy, because I wasn't able to get out of bed and sit at a table after having Krysta. Can you see how much food they gave us? It took some careful finagling by the nurses to get it all to fit at the table. And we ate almost all of it.In the hospital, Russell's bilirubin count started getting higher, and the day after we got home, it was high enough that they brought us a "bili-blanket" to help him get better. He literally glowed for a few days. He's fine now. My sweet mother is here holding him. She came out the day before Russell came to take care of the rest of the kids while I was in the hospital and for this past week. I don't know what we would have done without her. She's an angel! These next two pictures show a pretty cool trick that Russell can do. Yup, he was already rolling over to his side before we left the hospital!

Oh wow! I can't stop tearing up. This is the kind of event that makes me wish we weren't so far away.

He is precious and I can see the joy that he is bringing to his family already. I hope I can see him very soon and hold him and kiss his little face.
Love you guys.

How did I miss this post? I swear my blog didn't show me you had updated. Oh well, I'm here now! He is so cute! Reminds me of Jaxen & Tyler. My guess is, his hair will turn blond like there's did. That family picture of the kids is so sweet. And, what a dinner! Jealousy. Do you remember Russell's Bili number when you left? I'm curious because the suitcase was impossible to get Jaxen to sleep in it. I'd much rather have the blanket. But I think his number was so high, they gave us the suitcase. Beautiful family, can't wait to see him!
